Founder, Licensed Psychologist
As a clinical psychologist, I firmly believe the therapeutic relationship is a vital part of successful treatment. I aim to be collaborative, compassionate, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive in my practice. I work to create an environment where clients feel safe, respected, and validated. I make treatment highly individualized so that each step is tailored to meet the unique needs, circumstances, and experiences of each person. I seek to foster meaningful change by addressing client-defined treatment goals, and by integrating research-based principles and treatments throughout the therapeutic process. I look forward to hearing from you!
About Me
I am a proud native resident of Maryland. I live here with my partner, two sons, two dogs, and four fish. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, and doing activities outside. I am very happy to be able to provide quality mental health services to the Maryland community and beyond!
Education and Training
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, OK. Throughout graduate school, I worked with survivors of trauma in both community and Veteran populations. I completed my predoctoral internship at the Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System, where I received specialized training in the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Clinic. During internship, I also trained in the General Mental Health and Behavioral Medicine clinics. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at VA Boston in the PTSD clinic and the Women’s Trauma Recovery Team working with diverse-identified Veterans. On postdoc, I received additional specialty training in the treatment of PTSD and other trauma-related difficulties (e.g., nightmares, adjustment disorders, anxiety). I also received training in the treatment of core emotion dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, and difficulties tolerating distress. My training provides me with particular expertise in the areas of posttraumatic stress and sleep disturbances. In addition, I have significant experience in treating depressive and anxiety disorders.
My experience in providing treatment spans community, VA, outpatient, as well as inpatient settings.

Licensed Psychologist
Trained as a Clinical-Community psychologist, I see the therapeutic relationship and psychotherapy as a microcosm of the connection between clinical and community psychology. As a clinical psychologist I am grounded in providing care that is evidence-based, leverages my clinical experience, and connects with and engages client preferences and values. From a community psychologist perspective, I strive to engage clients in work that respects their humanity, seeks collaboration and empowerment, is strengths based, and facilitates a sense of collective wellness and community. Integrating these perspectives helps us create meaningful and client-centered processes to promote change. I look forward to working with you in building that process.
About me
Originally from Wisconsin, my family and I currently call Maryland home.
We enjoy outdoor adventures, catching up on our long “to watch and read” lists, and exploring all that the DMV has to offer – whether with friends and family or on our own. I am honored and thrilled to be able to provide high-quality evidence-based mental health services as part of the team at the Collaborative Psychology Center.
Education and Training
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My undergraduate and graduate research focused on incarcerated and justice-connected individuals, many of whom had significant trauma histories. During graduate school, I began providing trauma treatments in our local community which ignited a passion for providing high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed care. Finding my home in clinical work, I completed my predoctoral internship at the Jesse Brown Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Medical Center with a focus on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I then completed an additional year of specialization at VA Boston in the PTSD Clinic and the Women’s Trauma Recovery Team. Across these settings I also received extensive training in treating anxiety, depression, difficulties tolerating distress, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, and sleep.
My training and professional experience include providing treatment in the community and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
